Offering up an eclectic Caribbean-inspired collection, Angela Missoni celebrated the brand's 65th anniversary in style this season with both mens and womenswear on a beautifully diverse cast last night in Milan.
Textures were key here; using Missoni's rich textile archive, models served up intriguing new looks in chunky ribbed knitwear, delicate mohair, hypnotic lurex, buttery leather and vintage patchwork, plaid, fringing and animal prints galore.
Tone-on-tone mélanges in gauzy mohair and cashmere zigzags made from forty yarns⠀ of various gauges and colours: all the signature Missoni knits are once more reinvented for FW18, which pays tribute to Caribbean colours and this season's muses: iconic figures such as Jimi Hendrix, Jean-Michel Basquiat, Lisa Bonet, Lenny Kravitz and Angela Davis.

A multicultural and transgenerational elegance and urbanity moving between the colours of Jamaica, Expressionist paintings and graffiti art is the current running through this collection, featuring nonchalant and artful combinations, superimpositions and contrapositions of opaqueness and transparency in signature Missoni knits.
