Is Our Love Of Leather Partially To Blame For Rainforest Fires?

This week LVMH pledged €10m to help fight the rainforest fires currently burning in the Amazon. This may seem generous but the fashion industry has been complacent about it’s responsibly when sourcing leather from the Amazon. This money could have been used over the last few years to ensure that even with such high demand for leather within the fashion industry the goods were zero deforestation certified.
