We can always rely on Jeremy Scott to bring out our inner child on fashion week. The man known for putting teddy bears on trainers and making us covet perfume in a kitchen cleaner bottle is back at it again in New York.
It’s doubtful you’ll find any surprises in this show, but that’s because, on the designer’s twentieth anniversary, Scott is bringing back some of his most loved looks. They have a new twist this time around with sparkles and snake skin reigning supreme. As per, he’s also got Gigi, Karlie, Jourdan, and the other cool kids on board, wearing thigh high boots and all manner of see-through garms.
Personal highlights include the camo print (does this mean I can revive my 2009 clothes?) and the studded fishnets (did you stone those tights?!). Anything with a bit of sparkle is fine by me, and the nostalgia of heyday Paris and Nicole is amaaaaazing. It’s club kid meets spoiled brat, which is a combo that packs a big punch.
It’s a fun collection and, while it’s not groundbreaking, it’s classic Jeremy Scott, and a perfect way to mark his second decade at NYFW. His youthful shapes and colours in an industry that sometimes takes itself a bit too seriously are very welcome. There’s no surprise that he brings in everyone from Lionel Richie to Miley to his frows.

Bravo Jeremy. As you – and your collection – says: Viva Avant Garde!
