| At Paris Fashion Week, Issey Miyake debuted their Autumn-Winter 2018 collection. The "Silent Energy", the collection resembled pagan folk dresses from some alternative civilization.
“A winter wonderland asks silently: From where does life come and to where does it go? We envelop: The breath of the wild, a sign of hope.”
Discover Yoshiyuki Miyamae’s Autumn/Winter 2018 collection for Issey Miyake at Paris Fashion Week, inspired by plants and animals in a ‘winter wonderland’.
Everything is more intense with Issey Miyake. The black is darker, the white is brighter, the colours are richer. The headpieces were enchanting, too, from floppy fur wigs to ‘pleats please’ ragamuffin hats to twisted red creatures evocative of coral reefs.
Technical textiles were the star of the show here; the brand’s signature pleated stretch fabric was morphed into otherworldly shapes, and highlighted with contrsting sof and solid textures. The key USP of this collection though was the touches of neon; orange, yellow, hot pink and electric blue; a consistent theme at thsi seaosn’s fashion month.
