Shop Independent this Christmas with Fashion Fix Daily.
The second instalment in our ‘Shop Independent’ series is accessories. This covers everything from Pin Bagdes to head scarves & all designed in Scotland!
Karen Mabon – Karen Mabon creates the most adorable scarves and pjs. Illustrated by Karen herself, each illustration tells its own story, whether that be curious creatures, nostalgia-fuelled memories or characters acting out scenes from an old, forgotten film.
Emily Millichip – Emily’s ‘bags 4 lyf’ take shopping to a whole new chic level. These colourful creations & kitsch designs will make sure shopping becomes a treat & not a chore.
XOXO Designs By Ruth – Ruth is inspired by pattern, flowers, space and typography. Oh and not to mention cute animals!
Hand Over your Fairy Cakes – The sassiest feminist pin badges known to man, with some cute pastel notebooks, pop culture references and all handmade in Glasgow!
Sally Ann Provan – Avant Garde but still completely wearable millinery. Sally trained under the late Queen Mother’s milliner & creates beautiful statement hats.
William Chambers – With Berets back in fashion the first place on your shopping list this Christmas should be William Chambers. The Glasgow based Millner creates stunning hats and headwear.
Charcot – Accessories and Jewellery made using the patterns from owner Kirtsy’s MRI scans. Kirtsy suffers from MS and turns it into art using print and pattern.
Mimi Hammill – Based in Aberdeen Mimi creates beautiful, colourful scarves. These are not for the wallflower and will add a statement to any outfit!
Claire Barclay Draws – One of my all-time favourite illustrators, Claire creates pop culture jewellery, prints, tote bags and cards. The cute as fuck tote bag and the bowie print have to be my favourites.
The Bell Wether – Making craft supplies cute, the Bell Wether makes adorable cross stitch kits, keyrings and framed quotes.
Sleekit – Brightly coloured scarves, phone cases and tote bags made in Scotland.
Spilth Design – Accessories hand knitted in Dundee, perfect stocking fillers. I love the knitted boobs!
Studio 5 – Ethical and organic fashion and textiles brand inspired by the natural world based in Scotland. Studio 5 have recently collaborated with Joanna O’Brien for a scarf collection. Each piece is completely unique, super cosy and sustainably sourced.
Lake and Loch – A lifestyle brand inspired by Scottish cities and the countryside that surrounds them. With enamel mugs, travel candles, hats & scarves this is the brand you need to make your Lochside trips a little cosier!
Textiles By April – Inspired by her love of Geology, April creates limited edition, digitally printed accessories.
Iolla – Revolutionising the way we buy glasses, Iolla offers Scottish designed frames, made in Europe. The best thing about the brand tho? All frames come with your prescription & only cost £65 for single vision lenses, with anti-scratch, anti-glare & thinning all included.
Rene Walrus – Rene Walrus is an award-winning luxury accessories brand creating modern hair adornments & accessories. These may be designed with a bride in mind, but each piece wouldn’t look amiss on a night out. The garbo headband is my all time favourite, perfect for Christmas day!
