| With the support of Selena Gomez & James Franco, the glittered runway of the Coach SS18 show at New York Fashion Week was set for success from the word go.
Shining bright across NYFW, Coach's Spring/Summer 2018 collection was all about the glitter. With everything from the walls to the runway bedazzled with sparkles, to the actual clothes covered in sequins, pearls and metallic appliques. This was one shiny affair we are not going to forget anytime soon.
With a strong focus on slip dresses and straight silhouettes, British Creative Director, Stuart Vevers pairs delicate satin with tough denim and biker jackets serving some major cowboy feels. The looks, from jeweled to embellished, were completed with equally-as-shimmery shoes — something we've come across multiple times this NYFW.
The collection covered the whole spectrum of desaturated colours from blacks, creams to pastel yellows, greens and metallic pinks. Also managing to fling in touches of colour, print AND texture into the mix. Go big or go home? My kinda collection.
"It's shine and sparkle - and grit," said Vevers backstage after the show. "It was about the Coach girl dressing up, but I still wanted it to feel grounded and have that New York City attitude."
Vevers also added some cartoon characters and bold lines by iconic 80's graffiti artist, Keith Haring. Famous models from Adwoa Aboah, Winnie Harlow and Kaia Gerber walked the runway, and Selena Gomez, the face of Coach and name behind the sell out bag, sat in the front row, naturally! What's your thoughts? Are you happy for the new edgy return of the sparkle? I am, like a rhinestone cowboy!
Here's a close up of the full collection.
